my name is Maya, M-A-to the Y-A! (lol). Everyone who knows me understands that I may speak in song lyrics and this is a one I used from Jay-Z when I had to introduce myself at my last job! My mom was mortified when she heard about it, but it got a nice laugh! Anyhow… I just want to say hello, again! I am so excited to actually get my blogosphere life started and after some feedback in a few shorts hours of posting my “About Me” section (Thank God that is over! It took me months to get the courage to write it! I finally ripped the Band-Aid off) I am re-charged, rejuvenated, and empowered to preserve on! So much so, that I just couldn’t stay away and actually had thoughts flowing all through my head and wanted to share ASAP! Thus, I decided to share even more about me! (haha). 5 Things About Just Me O’Maya
- My favorite, favorite, favorite (possibly slightly obsessed) color is PURPLE! My first semester of college I only wore Purple or Red (my Moms favorite color). Even down to having a purple or red backpack. I love to color coordinate. I have gotten over only wearing two colors and I have added the entire color wheel to my closet. (But I still have a thing about color coordinating, especially with my shoes!)
- Speaking of shoes… I love shoes! (doesn’t every woman lol). However, I would say that my favorite shoes are tennis shoes, more specifically, Jordans! BUT, only up to the #18s. If Michael Jordan did NOT wear them in an actual game, I am not into them. So, I do not wear these new color combinations and shoes made after his second retirement. Jordans are not a trend to me (lol.. I might be a little serious about this) but an appreciation to the GREATEST basketball player of all time. But nowadays (since getting them is quite difficult…sad face), I am more into a good cute sandal, Kevin Durant low top tennis shoe (DMV Represent) and a SEXY heel or whatever goes best with Yoga pants (ahahahahahaha). Side Note: My Navy Guy and I are both obsessed with Jordans, but his obsession is just a tad bit more severe than mine!
- I love Mac and Cheese. Like, I love it! So, if you have a great recipe, tip, or secret trick to awesome mac and cheese, please don’t be stingy and SHARE!
- I can get anything done (like house chores….ughhh! so boring) to music… well, more like Mary J. Blige if it’s a long task! Or if it’s a quick task, then it’s Rihanna. So, I guess I would say Mary J. Blige is my favorite singer of all time, but Rihanna is my current mood muse singer! (But only when the kiddo is not around, some of their content is a bit much)
- My family is the single most important entity in my life. Everything that I do is for my family and their best interest. Words will never truly express how much my family and extended family mean to me. I love ALL of my family without judgement and try to help when I can (however, please don’t take advantage of my kind, generous heart, I’m a GEMINI)
