Let’s Glitter The Alphabet Activity!
We recently have been working on sight words. My daughter is always asking me “What does that sign say?” wherever we go. So, I have started sight word activities and created this fun activity!
Supplies
- Glitter
- Alphabet letters
- Piece of Paper
- Glitter scooper
Instructions
- Go outside, well, this is not a requirement, but it is highly recommended 😂
- Have your little one scoop out some glitter and cover it over the letter.
- Continue until the complete word is covered
4. Adult assisted, uncover your word, letter by letter
5. Ask your little one what word they created 😊😊
*BONUS*
You can always just write words in the glitter, but my little one enjoyed being able to scoop and cover the letters
My daughter just loved the glitter! She is glitter obsessed, so she had a great time! Make sure to post your pictures of this activity to my Facebook page! Hope your little one enjoys this and learns a word or two! ☺️
Enjoy!

Hands on learning is so important, it really helps kids remember. I love this tactile approach, it’s very reminiscent of the montessori approach! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for stopping by! My little is in Montessori half day, so I try to reinforce it at home as well
Wow this is such a fun idea!! I don’t have kids but this makes me want to do the same and use them on my fridge!!
This is such cute, fun and inexpensive activity to do with your little — love it!! How old it your little one? My son is 14 months so I think we might need to wait a while to try this. I think all he would do now is try to eat the glitter haha!

My daughter is 3.5 and my son is 13 months. I always find an alternative is he is awake during these activities lol. Yes! It will all go to the mouth.

Thank you! My daughter is glitter obsessed, so she had a great time. My husband on the other hand was not a fan 😂
Anything with glitter is so much fun! As a former Kindergarten teacher I am SO supportive of this activity. Nicely done!
