I 💜Music! And I especially love to dance. Sometimes I tell my daughter “sometimes you just have to get lost in the groove” which she eloquently displayed recently at a museum gift shop. 🙈😂 She was just dancing to their background music and told me “I am moving my body to the groove”.
So, I just wanted to share some music that I just LOVE and incorporate in our daily routine as much as I can.
I stumbled upon Putumayo World cds in a retail store and just fell in love. So, when I had my daughter I wondered if they made kids cd AND THEY DO!
Putumayo Kids is a great alternative to the same kids songs and it teaches a love for other languages and cultures.
I started with their Sing Along with Putumayo & World Playground.
Sing Along with Putumayo is all in English and has some really great melodies. My personal favorite is “Man Gave Name to All the Animals” by Tim O’Brien.
The World Playground cd has songs in almost every language imaginable. My daughter and I just love listening to the rhythmic melodies. Don’t worry if you do not understand the words, the cd comes with a very descriptive cd book!
After, World Playground I purchased Kids World Party. We listen to this cd a lot because my daughter just loves, loves, loves the song “Freeze Dance”
Yes! I am slightly obsessed because I purchased a fourth cd, African Playground. This is also a personal favorite of hers. She requests a few songs to be played on this cd as well.
My future purchase is Latin Playground. I am looking forward to adding this one to my collection. I have a few other cds in Spanish, so adding this to our Spanish language collection is exciting.
The awesome thing about Putumayo Kids is the wide variety of cds their collection encompasses. They produce other cds like “Celtic Dreamland”, “Asian Playground”, “Caribbean Playground”, “Australian Playground” and so much more!
When you fall in love with Putumayo Kids like I did, make sure to check out Putumayo for an even larger variety of music!
I hope you and your little ones enjoy this music just as much as we do! And yes, my infant son has been recognizing some of the songs as well. 😊 I can’t wait to see him lost in the groove.

I love the Putumayo CDs, especially Latin Lounge. Didn’t know they had them for kids too! Very good to know. Thanks! 😃
Glad to help! I have their Afro-Latin cd for myself and love it! I will have to add that one to my collection as well. ☺️ Thanks for reading!
My kids and I loved these too! But I started with the African music and worked pretty much in the opposite direction as you.
These cds are so amazing!!! How many do you have in your collection? Do you have any of the non-kids cd too?
Thanks! My grandson would love these!
These cds are phenomenal! I hope he enjoys them! Thanks for stopping by! 😊
I’ll look for them.
