The Unwelcome Surprise-Book Review

P’awww! This picture book brings back so many fond memories of when my trill trio were newborns.

THE UNWELCOME SURPRISE by @olgachildrensillustrator is the ulti-mutt feel good picture book.

It will definitely leave you with a warm and fuzzy feeling. It reminds me of the first moments our beloved dog, Onyx, initially met our babies. When I had all three of my children, my husband would swing by our house for a little bit and have our dog sniff a blanket our newborn was wrapped in while we still in at the hospital.

So, when Onyx first met all of our babies, he already knew their smell and was so excited to met them. And with any sweet and kind creature, his initial response to all of our babies was a tiny little lick on the cheek.

However, this story follows Bongo, the family dog, and his initial response it a tab bit different. The story opens with Bongo’s daily routine. Everything seems like any other usual day until an unexpected surprise turns Bongo’s rather predictable day upside down.

I really enjoyed this story and my mouth was agape at one point. When you read it, you will know the exact moment. 😜

I would recommend this book for expecting families, families with small children, families with a su-paw-star and any family in between.
